Ammonium chloride (NH4Cl) has many uses in laboratories, including:

– Cooling baths: It’s used to create low temperatures in cooling baths.

Ammonium chloride is also used in many other applications, including:

Food: the food grade one is used as a yeast nutrient in bread making.
Fertilizer: It’s used as a nitrogenous fertilizer in salty and alkaline soils, and in low-lying areas where rice is grown.
Metalwork: It’s used as a flux in tinning, galvanizing, and soldering to remove oxide coatings from metals.
